David Brake & That Damn Band are a band based in Houston Texas who combine rock, country and blues Americana - but rather than combining these influen-
ces to make one sound each song defines it's own genre.

Their debut CD"Lean Mean Texas Machine" received airplay on Americana and AAA radio stations across the country, and was named as one of the top 13 independent releases of 2003 in Texas Monthly (p.96, Dec. issue), the top 5 publisher’s picks in Texas Music Magazine, and #2 of the top 10 local picks in the Houston Press. The title track was the Featured New Artist Track on the Official Texas Music Countdown (syndicated on over 25 radio stations).

The group secured enough votes to gain nominations for Best New Artist and Best C&W Band in the Houston Press Music Awards 2004 & 2006, and the songs "Lean Mean Texas Machine" and "101 Tattoos" made the Top 10 of the Gator Press Texas Top 40 ww.texastop40.com,
with over 6,000 downloads each week in 2004-2005.
In 2005, the band was also featured in the Houston Chronicle and showcased live on FOX News in both Austin and Houston.

David Brake & That Damn Band have been described as a rock band with a fiddle, and the music as Freeform Americana or "Texas y'alternative." You can hear influences of Steve Earle, Wilco, Bruce Springsteen, Jack Ingram, Bruce Hornsby, Robert Earl Keen, Elton John, and The Beatles, among others.
